Who does Sola partner with?
Sola works with a network of partners to provide excellent wind and hail insurance coverage for homeowners across a growing number of states in the Midwest and the South. The way we’ve built this network illustrates our commitment to excellent customer service and our focus on finding the right partners to grow with.
Sola is backed by Lloyd’s of London
Our financial backing is the bedrock foundation of our business. Sola is fully backed and reinsured by Lloyd’s of London, and our policies are written on A-rated Lloyd’s paper. Our relationship with this respected name in the world of insurance serves as a trust signal for new customers and new partners alike. Every Sola policy is reliably backed by one of the best-known names in the reinsurance space.
Sola is sold by independent insurance agents
Those policies are sold every day by our independent agent partners across 15 states. We seek out the best in our appointees, and the effort that we put into that selection process pays off. We’re growing every day, but we grow intentionally, with purpose. Each new partner that joins our network brings local knowledge, community connections, and personal experiences to the table.
Sola's Wind and Hail policy is available in Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.
Aggregators provide multiple new opportunities at once
Sola does partner with aggregators, also called insurance marketplaces. These groups provide greater access to different insurance carriers and the commissions that come with sales for independent agents that would not have it otherwise.
Micro-aggregators can be a first step to growth for new agents
On an even more local scale, an agency cluster sometimes known as a micro-aggregator can be a great early step in the career of an independent agent looking to grow their book of business and to serve a greater range of clients. Sola partners with these groups as well.
What makes Sola different from other insurance companies?
Our commitment to working with trustworthy partners means that we know every member of our partner network keeps our priorities in mind with each new policy they write. Our focus on creating an excellent insurance experience for our members shows up in all of our relationships.
Why are you selective about who you partner with?
We obsess over the details of the work we do every day, and we prefer to work with people who do the same. By meeting each new potential partner in an introductory video call, we can learn more about them, understand their priorities as an agent and a member of their community, and get an idea for where their business is heading.
When it’s a good fit, things can move quickly. Agencies that are appointed to write Sola will receive an onboarding call from their assigned territory manager. They will also have access to their Sola partner by personal phone number and email address for whenever they may have questions about how to make the most of the new products in their portfolio.
Sola partners and members both have access to live support through the chat box on our website, through email, or by phone during business hours. These open channels are additional ways we make a commitment to our partners and clients in the moments when they need help.
What are the benefits of working with independent agents?
Our partnerships with independent agents and agencies allow us to maintain the level of quality in our network that has worked well for Sola so far. When we know every partner by name, and when they know their Sola rep’s phone number, it means that there’s a mutual relationship in place that benefits both sides.
We aren’t trying to sell a Sola policy to every homeowner in the United States. We’re engaging with them through our website, our marketing materials, and through our independent agent partners. When we have these conversations, we learn about their needs and circumstances. We use those connections to bring the opportunity to buy Sola coverage to the homes where our products can be the most helpful.
How do I become a Sola partner?
You can request a partnership with Sola from the Partners page on our site, through the chat box found at the bottom of each page, or by following a referral link from a friend or colleague. After a few quick questions, you’ll be on your way.
Summary
Sola Insurance works with the financial backing of Lloyd’s of London and the sales support of a network of independent partner agents. By partnering with individuals, independent agencies, and smaller aggregators with similar customer focus priorities, Sola maintains a consistent level of excellent service and member care.
