A clean claims record.

Filing with Sola doesn't ding your CLUE report or raise your renewal costs.

The Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange, commonly known as CLUE, is the credit report of the insurance world. Your CLUE report contains the details of every loss and claim you file with most insurance carriers. The records stay on your report for seven years before rolling off, and insurance companies use that information to decide whether to insure you, drop you, or raise your rates. Sola was built so that filing a claim doesn't have to be a difficult financial decision.

What CLUE is and why it matters more than people realize.

The CLUE report is run by LexisNexis, a U.S.-based data analytics company. It contains the loss history on every property and vehicle you own: every claim filed, every payout amount, even claims that paid out zero dollars. Insurance underwriters pull a CLUE report on you (and on the property you're trying to insure) to decide whether to offer you a policy and at what price. A single hail claim on your CLUE report can raise your homeowners premium by 10 to 30%. Two claims in three years can make you almost uninsurable in a competitive market. Even a 'closed without payment' claim can hurt your insurability, since many carriers treat it the same as a paid claim.

Why Sola doesn't report to CLUE.

Because Sola is a standalone policy that pays you cash directly, not a homeowners policy and not an endorsement to one, we don't have any obligation to report claims to the CLUE database. And we choose not to. That means filing a claim with Sola has zero impact on: • Your homeowners premium at renewal • Your ability to switch carriers in the future • Your CLUE loss history • Your eligibility for other policies We also don't raise your Sola premium because you filed a claim. Renewal pricing is based on the National Weather Service risk profile of your ZIP code, and nothing else.

This changes how homeowners actually use insurance.

Most people don't file insurance claims even when they should, because they're scared of being dropped or having their premium raised. That fear is rational, and it's exactly the dynamic that benefits insurance companies and hurts customers. With Sola, you can use your coverage the way it was meant to be used. Did you have a qualifying storm? File the claim. Use the cash to fix the roof, repair the windows, replace the gutters, or all three. We won't punish you for using the coverage you paid for.
Claim process was easy and smooth. Communication was back and forth was clear and timely!
